We celebrated with cake! We marked the forthcoming transition from phase 1 to phase 2 of our Drowning Prevention Project with fishing communities, with our project partners EMEDO, in Mwanza, Tanzania.

Sir William Hillary said the RNLI should save any life anywhere. RNLI in Tanzania is working with our local partner EMEDO, with artisanal fishers on Lake Victoria and through support to the Governments of the mainland and Zanzibar for drowning prevention strategies and plans supporting the UNGA resolution on drowning prevention. Zanzibar launched its Multisectoral Drowning Prevention National Action Plan for World Drowning Prevention Day 2024, which is one of the world's first national plans.
