Longest serving & newest volunteer crew members in front of Newcastle's all-weather lifeboat, The Leonard Kent

Brendan Rooney is the longest serving volunteer crew member at Newcastle having been there, for 30 years, in a variety of roles, including all-weather lifeboat crew, inshore lifeboat crew, casualty carer and currently working toward becoming a navigator. Emmy Torrens joined the volunteer crew in Newcastle at the start of 2024 and is currently inshore lifeboat crew. Emmy previously was an RNLI lifeguard at Murlough, Tyrella and Cranfiled beaches in the 2023 season.
