Vintage 1949 lifeboat tractor T50 out of the shed

Newbiggin’s First Lifeboat Tractor – RNLI Tractor No. 50 – KLA 84 For many years men and women at Newbiggin toiled to get the Lifeboat launched and hauled up with no mechanical assistance and horses were only occasionally used. The RNLI had experimented with various tractors and half-tracks since 1920 and Newbiggin was one of the last Stations to receive this new innovation. The base power transmission unit was manufactured by Case and classed as an ‘LA’ Model. Now restored to its former glory.
